Reading a private attribute's value

Hello,

I'm building a ClassLoader using Javassist to insert assertions into a class. The problem is that, when I'm writing pos conditions, I have to read the value of a private attribute, and Javassist doesn't have this function. 
Can I do this using BCEL? Do I have to use the class AttributeReader? I didn't understand how it works.
