[jira] [Commented] (JAMES-3345) Cannot control location of derby.log file

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-3345?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17166093#comment-17166093 ]

David Leangen commented on JAMES-3345:
--------------------------------------

The property [appears to be|http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.8/ref/crefproper22250.html] derby.stream.error.file=logs/derby.log. However, when I place this value in the james-database.properties file, it has no effect. (Note that the docs are for an older version, and I was not able to find that property in the current version of the docs.)

Does Derby allow this to be configured? (See also: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1004327/getting-rid-of-derby-log)

If it does, how does James pass along the configuration value?

> I am not able to control the location of the derby.log file. It should be possible to control the location so that all logs can potentially be placed nicely on a logging volume.
