[2/2/2005 8:07 AM] <Ajith> Hi Alek
[2/2/2005 8:07 AM] <Srinath> Hi All
[2/2/2005 8:07 AM] <Srinath> shall we start
[2/2/2005 8:07 AM] <Ajith> yep I asked the same question :)
[2/2/2005 8:08 AM] <Harsha> Lets get going then;)
[2/2/2005 8:10 AM] <Harsha> I meant lets' start unless we are waiting for someone.
[2/2/2005 8:10 AM] <Srinath> Alek: got a Q for u?
[2/2/2005 8:10 AM] <Srinath> we are trying a perf analysis
[2/2/2005 8:12 AM] <alek_s> hello everybody
[2/2/2005 8:12 AM] <Chinthaka> hi all
[2/2/2005 8:12 AM] <Jaliya> Hi Alek
[2/2/2005 8:13 AM] <Ajith> ok now whats our status ?
[2/2/2005 8:13 AM] <chamil> hi all << me just observing :)
[2/2/2005 8:13 AM] <Ajith> myself and Srinath are doing a perf test
[2/2/2005 8:14 AM] <Ajith> and fixing small perf issues here and there
[2/2/2005 8:14 AM] <Srinath> Alek we got about 2X perf over Axis 1.1 with message about 97KB message
[2/2/2005 8:14 AM] <Ajith> so how is the documentation coming ?
[2/2/2005 8:15 AM] <Srinath> I belive we should be getting better figures .. any pointers that might
help us to improve the figures
[2/2/2005 8:15 AM] <alek_s> Srinath: please check in source code you used to compare and how to run it
[2/2/2005 8:15 AM] <Srinath> we used jmeter
[2/2/2005 8:15 AM] <Chinthaka> where is Glen ?
[2/2/2005 8:16 AM] <Srinath> the sample we used to run is in src/samples/samples/
[2/2/2005 8:16 AM] <alek_s> he sent email with regrets he can not get connection
[2/2/2005 8:16 AM] <alek_s> Srintah: i mean code you used to measure performance
[2/2/2005 8:16 AM] <Srinath> sorry src/samples/sample1
[2/2/2005 8:17 AM] <Srinath> we used jmeter with the saop message pasted to the jemter
[2/2/2005 8:17 AM] <Ajith> Chinthaka : glen said he is not able to make it
[2/2/2005 8:17 AM] <alek_s> commit into SVN also actual results and how you tested, on what machine,
network, Java version, etc.
[2/2/2005 8:18 AM] <Ajith> Alek : we are actually "just scratching" these days
[2/2/2005 8:18 AM] <Ajith> we will probably chek in the report soon
[2/2/2005 8:19 AM] <Ajith> but for now we dont have anything in the SVN
[2/2/2005 8:19 AM] <Srinath> Alek:sure .. we do not complemete a systematic test ..we just looking
around where to improve the code
[2/2/2005 8:19 AM] <Chinthaka> we wrote a small tutorial on OM as well
[2/2/2005 8:19 AM] <Ajith> except for the samples
[2/2/2005 8:19 AM] <alek_s> i do not mean real report - just how to reproduce results (in less than 10
steps ...) and how did you get your results
[2/2/2005 8:19 AM] <Chinthaka> but since Srinath and Ajith are doing some perf tuning, lets publish
that once thats done
[2/2/2005 8:20 AM] <Ajith> Chinthaka : I did some changes to Om serializing so the doc is slightly
outdated now ;)
[2/2/2005 8:21 AM] <Chinthaka> thats what I said :)
[2/2/2005 8:21 AM] <Ajith> Alek : will the jmeter config file do ?
[2/2/2005 8:21 AM] <Srinath> sure we will send a mail perf test ..how to reproduce it
[2/2/2005 8:22 AM] <alek_s> if it is all that i need to run it - no need to know how dod you set up
services?
[2/2/2005 8:22 AM] <Srinath> cool :)
[2/2/2005 8:25 AM] <alek_s> in general be careful with making any statements about performance based on
one bechmark and one test results ...
[2/2/2005 8:26 AM] <Srinath> sure Alek :)
[2/2/2005 8:27 AM] <Ajith> Ok so guys hows the documentation coming ?
[2/2/2005 8:28 AM] <alek_s> any other topics for discussion?
[2/2/2005 8:28 AM] <Ajith> except for the Om tutorial :)
[2/2/2005 8:28 AM] <alek_s> (not that i have anything against short meetings)
[2/2/2005 8:29 AM] <Harsha> Where can I fit into the current tasks?
[2/2/2005 8:29 AM] <alek_s> Harsha: i think there is big need to do code and documentation reviews?
[2/2/2005 8:30 AM] <Ajith> yeah that is a good idea
[2/2/2005 8:30 AM] <Harsha> Ok. tell me what I need to do.
[2/2/2005 8:30 AM] <Ajith> we need a fresh pair of eyes to go over the code and find problems
[2/2/2005 8:30 AM] <Ajith> you know, things that can be improved
[2/2/2005 8:31 AM] <Harsha> Right. We could go over the details offline I guess.
[2/2/2005 8:31 AM] <Ajith> yep
[2/2/2005 8:32 AM] <Harsha> Sounds Interesting. Fire me an email or we could have a yahoo chat.
[2/2/2005 8:32 AM] <Ajith> ok
[2/2/2005 8:33 AM] <alek_s> are we finished with today chat?
[2/2/2005 8:34 AM] <alek_s> who posts chat log?
[2/2/2005 8:37 AM] <Harsha> Looks like we are done for today.
