[PERFORMANCE] Sun vs. PC

Hi all

We're developing a cocoon-application (so far only xslt pipelines,
no apps) on a SunOS server.
Everything works out well, but we're experiencing heavy
performance problems. To make sure our application could be
running fast, we tested it on a PC, which resulted in more than
ten times faster response times.
Which would be perfect, only Sun is our target platform.

Are there any known issues about different jdk-versions?
tomcat-versions? cocoon-versions? SunOS? pitfalls? any tips to
boost performance OR is our Sun Machine simply to slow?
(see technical spec details below)

Thanks in advance.
Thomas Brusa
