February 2016 Report

Greetings, {podling} developers!

This is a reminder that your report is due next Wednesday, February
3rd. Details below.

Best,

Marvin Humphrey, Report Manager for February, on behalf of the
Incubator PMC

---------------

Dear podling,

This email was sent by an automated system on behalf of the Apache
Incubator PMC. It is an initial reminder to give you plenty of time to
prepare your quarterly board report.

The board meeting is scheduled for Wed, 17 February 2016, 10:30 am PDT.
The report for your podling will form a part of the Incubator PMC
report. The Incubator PMC requires your report to be submitted 2 weeks
before the board meeting, to allow sufficient time for review and
submission (Wed, February 3rd).

Please submit your report with sufficient time to allow the Incubator
PMC, and subsequently board members to review and digest. Again, the
very latest you should submit your report is 2 weeks prior to the board
meeting.

Thanks,

The Apache Incubator PMC

Submitting your Report

----------------------

Your report should contain the following:

*   Your project name
* A brief description of your project, which assumes no knowledge of
the project or necessarily of its field
* A list of the three most important issues to address in the move
    towards graduation.
* Any issues that the Incubator PMC or ASF Board might wish/need to be
    aware of
* How has the community developed since the last report
* How has the project developed since the last report.

This should be appended to the Incubator Wiki page at:

http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/February2016

Note: This is manually populated. You may need to wait a little before
this page is created from a template.

Mentors
-------

Mentors should review reports for their project(s) and sign them off on
the Incubator wiki page. Signing off reports shows that you are
following the project - projects that are not signed may raise alarms
for the Incubator PMC.

Thanks for that. Do you have wiki access to enter it live?
I'm guessing maybe not, since there's nothing there.

We've been signing up the developers, though real work
has still yet to start. I think perhaps "develop the
community" and "develop the project's identity?"

I like it, but I don't think the other lines really work.

We do have community news:

The community has voted to invite four further developers
to join as committers and PPMC members. Two of these were
omissions from the Initial Committers list; the others are new.
We are in the process of inviting them.

We have started developing the community on the Apache
mailinglists, but have yet to move other activities to Apache.

n/a (but see above; we are inviting new developers on board).

Hi folks,

We have to report progress to Apache.
Our second report is due on Wednesday February 3rd 2016.
Not much to say again, but I've try to completing our entry.
Please take a look and add your comments or if anyone spots an error just ping me before the end of tomorrow.

Milagro

Distributed Cryptography; M-Pin protocol for Identity and Trust

Milagro has been incubating since 2015-12-21.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. Import the software.

  2. Sign up the developers.

  3. Audit the Intellectual Property.

All fairly meaningless until the Community is live at Apache.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be aware of?

n/a

How has the community developed since the last report?

Milagro is still in the very early stages of incubation, and performing the mechanical tasks of code movement and infrastructure setup is our first priority.

There are now XXX subscribers on the dev mailing list.

The community shows slowly increasing activities. In Jan, there have been 21 messages on dev@, compared with 3 messages in Dec.

How has the project developed since the last report?

We have performed some of the basic initial tasks for incubation.

Date of last release:

n/a

When were the last committers or PMC members elected?

Initial Committers only.

Signed-off-by:

Sorry, I promised a followup on this.

The report is filled to a template, which can be found at
https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/February2016

It's customary to post a draft to this list, as I did
last month:
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/milagro-dev/201601.mbox/%3C20160106140520.4d4e0f97%40bifrost.webthing.com%3E

If noone else gets there first, I'll deal with it on
Wednesday ahead of the deadline.
