[jira] [Commented] (DRILL-952) Allow multiple sqlline shells

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-952?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14028018#comment-14028018 ]

Ramana Inukonda Nagaraj commented on DRILL-952:
-----------------------------------------------

I am guessing you are using the embedded drillbit.
That mode is more for experimenting with drill on a single node.

In a production scenario you will have drillbit running and then connect through sqlline, the JDBC URL will have ZK information. Multiple sqlline sessions work in that case.

> Can't open two sqlline shells in parallel. That's a usability issue. I was able to troubleshoot just because I knew that Drill starts up a background process. Maybe choose a port number at random (assuming that's the issue)?
