No, at least not directly, but you can define an attribute in the layout 
page, e.g.:
<tiles:getAsString name="definitionName">
and doing:

<definition name="loginPage" extends="baseLayout">
  <put name="definitionName" value="loginPage" />
  <!-- The rest remains the same -->
</definition>
