it does not appear that the maven plugin for eclipe reads the settins.xml file in my maven home. I can specify the repository location in settings but when I try to build a project for the first time using things like jars that are in a repository specified in my settings.xml file but not on ibiblio I get an error that it cannot download the file. would it be possible to just speicify the maven home so it can pick up anything that gets added there in the future (including the settings.xml file) or at lesat allowing me to specifiy the location of the settins.xml file?
