[jira] [Created] (ARROW-15162) [C++] Test precision range decimal data type in C++

Dragoș Moldovan-Grünfeld created ARROW-15162:
------------------------------------------------

             Summary: [C++] Test precision range decimal data type in C++
                 Key: ARROW-15162
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-15162
             Project: Apache Arrow
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: C++
            Reporter: Dragoș Moldovan-Grünfeld

Would it be possible to test the range for the decimal precision in C++? At the moment this functionality is being tested in the \{arrow} R package and the GLib library.

[This PR|https://github.com/apache/arrow/pull/11773/files] captures perfectly the location of the unit tests.
