apr-iconv
Hi
Please can you tell me the status of apr-iconv in the Win32 build?
Are you waiting/trying to get the apr-iconv library to work or are you
going to change to the GNU iconv lib?
I have got apr-iconv to build on Win32 but it doesn't seem to do
anything. I've not been in touch with the apr-iconv guys, thought I'd
try here first. The GNU iconv does seem to work however.
Btw, I have access to Japanese Windows 2000 and Windows 98 PC's if you'd
like something testing.
Regards
Peter

<personal-opinion>
apr_iconv is an abomination that should've been smothered at birth.

I believe we should use GNU libiconv for Subversion, regardless of ASF
quirks^H^H^H^H^H^Hpolicy. I can't see how apr_iconv could become useful for us
in time for 1.0; it's practically unmaintained, has a miserably unix-centric
design, and is lacking in functionality WRT GNU libiconv.

Yes, apr_iconv does exactly nothing on Windows.

Correct.

That would be great!
