[jira] [Created] (KAFKA-20969) Mark "bootstrap.resolve.timeout.ms" as an experimental feature
Chia-Ping Tsai created KAFKA-20969:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Mark "bootstrap.resolve.timeout.ms" as an experimental feature
Key: KAFKA-20969
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-20969
Project: Kafka
Issue Type: Sub-task
Reporter: Chia-Ping Tsai
Assignee: Chia-Ping Tsai
KAFKA-20939 disables the new DNS resolution behavior by default, which means the new feature has only a few tests. It is really weird to me that we expose a foundational change relying on so few tests.
It appears we should mark the entire DNS resolution feature as experimental, including the following changes:
1. Add an evolving tag to BootstrapResolutionException.
2. Add docs stating that setting a positive value for bootstrap.resolve.timeout.ms is evolving.
