J2EEUnit donation to the Apache Group

Hi,

Some time ago, I posted a message on this mailing list mentionning that I
was willing to donate J2EEUnit (http://j2eeunit.sourceforge.net) to the
Apache Group. I have tried to follow a bit the ongoing discussion regarding
the Commons/Agora/... (although I have not read *all* the posts ... too
many ... :) ) but I am not sure about the latest status regarding server
test frameworks. I seem to remember that DBCP was number 1 on the list of
todo and test frameworks would come later, is that right ?

I have a few questions :

1) What is the process for a project to be accepted as part of the Apache
Project ? (sorry if this is a FAQ somewhere ... point me to the URL if it is
...)
2) Has anyone ever done a migration of license from GPL to APL ? I am the
sole owner of J2EEUnit
3) Are you interested by the J2EEUnit framework ?
4) What's the timeframe for choosing a server framework (or several) for the
Commons/Agora/... ?

Thanks a lot.
Vincent Massol

The best way to start the process would be for you to submit a proposal
to the general list. I'm sure it would come up for a vote in due course.

If you would like to send it me privately first, I'd be happy to review
it.

Ok thanks. So I'll have to convince a PMC member to initialize this
subproject creation ... :)

I just meant that it seemed you were very focused on the DBCP for the moment
and you probably had a lot of work to do in order to bootstrap the Commons.
I didn't want to intrude with the server-side testing framework issue if it
is not the correct time ... JUnit is probably enough for DBCP unit tests.
However, for projects like Struts, Turbine, Cocoon, ... J2EEUnit would be
very useful.

QA testing is actually something that we would want to work on along
with the DBCP pool. Ideally, we would like each package to ship with its
own suite of tests.

QA testing is actually something that we would want to work on along
with the DBCP pool. Ideally, we would like each package to ship with its
own suite of tests.
