How to use Numbering equations features in Math
Hi,
I have an issue When I use Numbering equations in Math follow by the user guide http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOo3_User_Guides/OOo3.3_Chapters_ODT
The steps in User Guides is
Equation
numbering is one of OOo Math’s best hidden features. The steps are
simple, but obscure:
Start
a new line.
Type
fn
and then press F3.
The
fn
is replaced by a numbered formula:
After I input "E=MC^2 newline fn" and press F3 key in keyboard.
Nothing happen, Is it something wrong in my steps?
Thanks,
Terry

Terry,
I just did this in OO.o 3.3:
(1) opened a new text doc
(2) typed the letters
fn
(3) pressed F3 key
and it did just what the manual says: gave me a line with a canned
equation and an equation number.
Works for me.
As you probably realize, this is a canned AutoText entry.

You got the instructions out of sequence.
Start a newline, then enter E=MC^2 and then press the F3 key. Does that work better?

PS: If you are on a lap top, you may need to hold down the Fn key in the first row, then press F3 and release both Fn and F3.
