Sorry for the delay. Yes this is still Solaris for Intel:

Installing Mail::SPF::Query may very well be the cause. Testing
it again with "force install Mail::SPF::Query" causes the problem.
I do not remember installing it as part of SpamAssassin but may very
well have happened.

Upgrading Sys::Hostname::Long and then reinstalling Mail::SPF::Query
again doesn't cause the problem so Sys::Hostname::Long was definately
the culprit.

You could close this again then...
