Bay Area Mahout Meetup Dec. 7?

I'm going to be in the Bay Area on Tuesday Dec. 7 and thought it would be cool to have another informal meetup for Mahout. Anyone in the area interested? I think the general consensus was to be in the South Bay, which I think nicely fits with my schedule, too. We could check on the Hacker DoJo (we are likely going to be having a Lucene Meetup there on the 8th for those interested, but it isn't officially announced yet.) but I'm open to other suggestions. The last one was OK at Panera, but it was a bit hard to hear.

Thoughts? Ideas? Yes? No? Maybe? Anyone have hosting facilities?

3 yes, 2 maybe's so far. Doesn't look like over-whelming number of folks.
That should mean we are good to go
with the MapR offices.

No agenda yet. This is a very informal meetup.

My expectation is that we would have

- general announcements

- informal discussion about new developments
     clustering as a classifier
     speedy encoding
     ? other ?

- pizza!

Plus whatever you would like to hear. If you have some specific questions
or comments, then that would be a great beginning
for discussions.

What is the agenda? Is this for users (new/intermediate/advanced?) or developers?

I have confirmed that I can host up to 10-15 people here at MapR.

Can we get a count?

Here is a form that will collect what we need:

Dojo might be necessary, given the size of the audience Mahout got at
the Data Mining Workshop at eBay last weekend.

not

Panera is at the wrong end of the peninsula for me, personally. Jake owes
us a transit of the peninsula anyway.

Dojo would be great and would be able to handle lots of folks. I may be
able to offer our offices here at MapR as an alternative. We could handle
up to 15 or so and have some central space, kitchen and four breakout rooms.
I will have confirm that as well.
