[jira] [Commented] (LANG-1165) FastDateFormat should extend DateFormat

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LANG-1165?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14694438#comment-14694438 ]

Gary Gregory commented on LANG-1165:

Thoughts? Patch? With tests? ;-)

> Current FDT extends {{Format}} only, thus making it impossible to replace SDF where {{DateFormat}} is accepted.
> I am using Jackson's {{ObjectMapper}} which has a {{#setDateFormat}} method. But -- it accepts {{DateFormat}}. Impossible to use FDT.
