Getting the following error complaining about comments from the manual entry:

Reason: Error getting POM for 'org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-clover-plugin' from the repository: Unable to read local copy of metadata: Can
not read metadata from 'D:\Documents and Settings\jzt5lx\.m2\repository\org\apache\maven\plugins\maven-clover-plugin\maven-metadata-central.
xml': in comment after two dashes (--) next character must be > not - (position: END_TAG seen ...<version>2.3</version>\n<!-- ---... @15:9)
org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-clover-plugin:pom:LATEST
Deleting the comments from the maven-metadata-central.xml file fixes it until I use a -U option, then it comes back.
