I could not reproduce this with AOO 4.1.2 on Windows 10. It may be
Linux-specific.

Issue 126980 may be related. In that case, it appears tied to Ubuntu. Can we
determine which specific Linux distro is reproducible here at Issue 126824 ?

Just in case, I followed the reproducibility instructions using AOO 4.1.2 on
Windows 10 Pro x64 with no Java installed.

The failure could not be reproduced.

This suggests that the problem is likely platform-specific in some manner.

--- Comment #4 from jaapbril <ja...@jbril.net> ---
As suggested I reset user profile (updates available again; imperial iso metric
etc..)

tried via f11 again (same result: crash)

tried via sidebar (seems to work: new styles created)

But now using styles (f11 or sidebar popup 'styles en opmaak' (dutch version)
crashes the app :

click tekst & double click style.

Version:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.1.2/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.2_Linux_x86_install-rpm_nl-NL.tar.gz

installed with:
rpm -Uvh RPMS/*.rpm
RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice4.1.2-redhat-menus-4.1.2-9782.noarch.rpm

NOTE:
It might be linux specific (issue does not occur on my mac)
