For uPortal 3 (http://www.uportal.org) we make extensive use of Jakarta commons
libraries. We ran into a need for a collection type that is not addressed by the
current collections package. We needed a collection with List semantics with
which we could also access elements by a key Object. We also didn't want the
full fledged Map interface.

I'm attaching the interface and classes we came up with for this work to see if
the commons developers are interested.
