Custom archetypes with .vm files?

Hi,

I'm trying to create a custom archetype for Liferay theme war files. I've
downloaded one of their example theme packs to start from and it has .vm
files in it. I can create/install an archetype listing these vms as resource
files but when I try to activate/use it to start a theme project I get
invalid reference errors. It seems like Maven is trying to run the vm files
instead of just copying them out to the output folder. What am I doing
wrong?
