[jira] (MASSEMBLY-734) Control timestamps on archived files
Leonid Ilyevsky created MASSEMBLY-734:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Control timestamps on archived files
Key: MASSEMBLY-734
URL: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MASSEMBLY-734
Project: Maven Assembly Plugin
Issue Type: Improvement
Affects Versions: 2.5.1, 2.5.2
Environment: Linux, java 8
Reporter: Leonid Ilyevsky
Need to have some control on the creation time stamp of the files included in the archive.
It may be very important on the filtered files. For example, I have a script that is filtered based on the project version. Let say, the script itself does not change, but the project version changes. On the next deployment, in the production place where the archive is unpacked, the script is different, but its time stamp is old (it matches the time of the source file). So, when I do "ls -l", it gives me an impression that the script was not updated, while it actually was.
Even for the files that are not filtered, I may want to touch all files when archiving, so that when I unpack, I clearly see that the files are updated.
The plain "tar" command has an option to do what I described.
