Search box

We totally need a search box for our site. A simple little google
one is absolutely fine. Just need someone to put it in our template:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openejb/trunk/website/src/vm/
openejb_autoexport.vm

Any volunteers?

Aha,

Thanks a lot. I didnt even realize that the link pointed to a location
in svn. This was an oversight from me.
I checked it out. This is great information.

Thanks again!!

Hmmm, let me describe it here. It should be on a web site...somewhere.

Anyone can download openejb bits and play with it, but only committers
are able to commit their changes to the repo. Download the website
repo as follows:

  svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openejb/trunk/website

It will check out the sources from the website repo (that's the link
you showed to me before when I'd asked you about the file the patch
should be applied to).

More details on how svn works at ASF is at Anonymous Subversion [1].
Read the entire doc for other details.

Thanks Jacek

Works perfect!

The reason of why the patch seemed incorrect is because I did not
checkout the website. I am not sure of where to get it from and
whether if I have access to it. I had asked about it earlier in
http://www.nabble.com/tips-on-searching-archives-tf3978851s2756.html#a11403365

So, I could not svn diff it against the real source and had to use the
linux diff command to create the patch. Sorry for the inconvenience. I
should've posted this information before the fact rather than after.

Jacek applied the patch a while ago. I still don't see the search box
on the openejb website

We can start with 1 and go from there. Patch away.

The google search can be done in two ways:
1. The search box will show up on the website (we need to put some
code generated by google), however the search results will be on a
"google like" page
2. If we want the search results to show up in one of our own pages,
then we would need to create a separate page, something like for
example, searchResults.html. I dont know how to create an html page
under openejb.apache.org and I dont even think I have the rights to do
that.

I can open a jira and attach the patch for [1] above if you want

We use the google community search on the Terracotta.org site. With
a little tuning, it works pretty well and you get to specify exactly
what the scope of the search results are (by url pattern, which you
can update collaboratively).
