Activity attribute excludeFromRecents="true" does nothing

I want my app to be excluded from the recent list on Android, but the
attribute responsible for that seems doesn't work at all.
Nothing changes if I add it.

android:excludeFromRecents="true">
                <intent-filter>
                    <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN"/>
                    <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" />
                    <category
android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER"/>

/>

android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE"/>
                    <data android:scheme="params" android:host="*"
android:mimeType="text/*"/>
                    
                </intent-filter>
            </activity>
