[jira] [Commented] (LOG4NET-367) RollingFileAppender-NG: rewrite the RollingFileAppender

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4NET-367?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16625442#comment-16625442 ]

Dominik Psenner commented on LOG4NET-367:
-----------------------------------------

This issue relates to the reimplementation of the rolling file appender and shows once more that the rolling file appender should provide less functionality. We should further add a good documentation on what usecases it does support and for what functional requirements it is not designed for. Logging and rolling the same file from different processes is one of those things that create more problems than what it solves.

> Many issues were reported with the current implementation of the RollingFileAppender so that a rewrite seems sensible.
