Volunteer:Legal and Translation

Doug Cutting and Apache's Board:

Hi, I am a Peruvian-US citizen, who is currently studying a master in IP and International Business Law at SCU.

I am really familiar with FREE software because I have been using your software and other sharing open sources as I had the opportunity to meet Richard Stallman from GNU and Kat Walsh from Creative Commons, I understand the philosophy behind open source and unix.
I would like to contribute enthusiastically to comply Apache's vision, bringing ideas to your team table, helping in Apache's legal and international projects as offering my bilingual skills for a good cause.

Please don't hesitate to contact me anytime to this email.

Thanks

Paola Aguiar.

Welcome, Paola!

It's good to be a huge community: we are looking for a Peruvian to
confirm this recent OpenOffice fix
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121825
(that page gets technical, but we merely need confirmation of the first
comment on what number separators are commonly used in Peru, i.e.,
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121825#c0 ; if you need
more information, just register there and post a comment).

For a longer-term involvement, I would recommend that you read our
orientation guide:
http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/
and feel free to get involved as you wish.

Note that we don't have a channel for community activity around legal
issues. Legal discussions are one of the few activities that are managed
through dedicated (and sometimes private) channels. Apache OpenOffice
relies on the Apache Legal Affair Committee most of the time:
http://www.apache.org/legal/

Regards,
   Andrea.
