String deserializer help

I am using apache soap to build a web service. I have a method which takes a
String argument. The service is invoked from a MS Soap/.net Client. I get a
exception in the client side saying

No Deserializer found to deserialize a ':xmlString' using encoding style
'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/'.
Could any body help me what I need to do on the server side and the client
side to register the StringDeserializer.
