[jira] [Created] (FLINK-12581) HiveCatalog.alterTable() and alterDatabase() should check the existing object and new object are of same type

Bowen Li created FLINK-12581:
--------------------------------

Summary: HiveCatalog.alterTable() and alterDatabase() should check the existing object and new object are of same type
                 Key: FLINK-12581
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-12581
             Project: Flink
          Issue Type: Sub-task
          Components: Connectors / Hive
            Reporter: Bowen Li
            Assignee: Bowen Li
             Fix For: 1.9.0

HiveCatalog.alterTable() and alterDatabase() should check the existing object and new object are of same type. It currently doesn't, and you can alter an existing generic table with a new hive table.
