[jira] Created: (FOR-1088) XInclude xpointer fragments should be specified using separate @xpointer attribute

XInclude xpointer fragments should be specified using separate @xpointer attribute
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: FOR-1088
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOR-1088
             Project: Forrest
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Core operations
    Affects Versions: 0.9-dev
            Reporter: David Crossley

Sjur wrote to the dev list following FOR-1032 (adding xinclude to xdocs DTD) and FOR-814 (an example which also used xpointer).

"The final XInclude spec does not allow fragment identifiers. ... Instead, fragments should be specified using a separate xpointer attribute."

David Crossley commented on FOR-1088:
-------------------------------------

The Apache Cocoon XInclude Transformer handles xpointer the old way.

Until that is fixed at Cocoon (and we at Forrest upgrade our packaged Cocoon) there is a workaround (part of r685044) which does a transformation to append the value of the xpointer attribute to the href attribute. This encourages proper use in the xdocs source documents.
