Connection pool in axis 2

Hi,

I was wondering, is that possible to create a connection pool in a web
service?
currently what i did was, each in every web service function I open and
close
the connection which will slow down the performance and if there are many
user accessing
my service it will give me trouble.
any idea on how this can be done?

any help will be appreciated. :)
