[jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-3210) Object_Store_Refactor - Adding S3 Storage should check connectivity

Thomas O'Dowd created CLOUDSTACK-3210:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: Object_Store_Refactor - Adding S3 Storage should check connectivity
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-3210
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-3210
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
         Environment: devcloud
chrome on linux
Cloudian and AWS for S3 services
            Reporter: Thomas O'Dowd

1. Navigate to infrastructure -> secondary storage.
2. Remove NFS storage.
3. Select add secondary storage and select S3.
4. Enter any bad information such as bad credentials, non-existing bucket, bad endpoint etc.
5. Finally save the info.

I expect the GUI to try to connect to the S3 server to do a HEAD BUCKET or GET BUCKET to ensure that the various details are correct and fail to add the secondary storage with some information if not correct.

Additionally, there doesn't seem to be any S3 errors logged on the terminal running the management server when I do have wrong info. Security Credentials may change over time for example. Currently it seems silent.
