Going to port 80 probably won't work since this is going to redirect to ssl. Instead if we really have to make this change, I would proxy directly to the jetty port, which is what httpd is going internally.
Also, we had to adjust timeout values in httpd.conf because some people on slow connections where getting 502s doing puts and there are rewrite rules in place to handle mapping the snapshots repository to the proper nexus url.
I understand why we may want to have a common ssl endpoint for most systems, but do we really need one for rao just to avoid getting another cert from godaddy?

The apache vhost has been setup, but still needs some work. Right now it will proxy to port 80 of the httpd instance running on the current VM.
Is this sufficient? Does nexus check for https connections for anything? Does it care at all?
