[ANNOUNCE] Apache Giraph 0.1.0-incubating released

I am excited to announce the release candidate has been successfully
voted on by the Incubator PMC
(http://bit.ly/giraph_rc0_incubator_vote) and Giraph 0.1.0-incubating
is live.

SVN tag corresponding to release:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/giraph/tags/release-0.1.0/

.tar.gz of source release:
http://people.apache.org/~jghoman/giraph-0.1.0-incubating/giraph-0.1.0-incubating-src.tar.gz

Release notes: http://people.apache.org/~jghoman/giraph-0.1.0-incubating/RELEASE_NOTES.html

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the release. I'll work on
getting the artifacts into Maven to make it easier for end users to
start developing Giraph applications.

Ah, sorry to have jumped the gun. Copied the artifacts over so,

Release artifacts are available from
http://www.apache.org/dist/incubator/giraph/giraph-0.1.0-incubating/
and if you're reading this 48 hours after this email, be kind and use a mirror:
http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/incubator/giraph/

We are planning on putting release artifacts into maven, sooner than
later. I was hoping to start working on this later this week.

Thanks for your help!

Jakob

You shouldn't link the release to your people.apache.org account because that site doesn't
have the bandwidth or world-wide mirroring system of the ASF. You need to copy the release
artifacts to the ASF world-wide mirroring system by copying them from your home directory above
to:

/www/www.apache.org/dist/incubator/giraph/

You'll need to talk to someone in infra@ to turn this on for Giraph if it hasn't
been done already.

After that, in ~48 hours, the mirrors will have synced live throughout the
world.

Are you planning on integrating this release into Maven Central? If so,
you'll need to publish it to Apache Nexus, which you'll have request
help from infra@ on also.

I'd recommend doing this for 0.2 but it's not a blocker for now.

This should also be linked from the dist area, not from your home directory.

And thanks to you for pushing this forward!

Things to update now:
-------------------------------------------------------

1. release artifacts must be copied to the dist area and mirrored throughout
the world.

Things to update later (0.2 and beyond)
-------------------------------------------------------

1. repository.apache.org (Nexus) => Maven Central sync
2. ANNOUNCE email should contain www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi links

Cheers,
Chris
