[jira] [Created] (KNOX-89) Knox doing SPNego with Hadoop for client request is not scalable

Dilli Arumugam created KNOX-89:
----------------------------------

Summary: Knox doing SPNego with Hadoop for client request is not scalable
                 Key: KNOX-89
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KNOX-89
             Project: Apache Knox
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Server
    Affects Versions: 0.3.0
            Reporter: Dilli Arumugam
            Assignee: Dilli Arumugam
             Fix For: 0.4.0

At present, Knox talking to Kerberos protected Hadoop cluster, does SPNegot authentication with Hadodop every request. This is not scalable and needs to be fixed. I think we could cache hadoop.auth cookie returned by Hadoop service and avoid repeating SPNego authentication. Requires more research, tests and some POC.
