[jira] [Resolved] (SPARK-3221) Support JRuby as a language for using Spark

Sean Owen resolved SPARK-3221.
------------------------------
    Resolution: Won't Fix

Given that other proposals for changes that connect Spark to third-party projects have been closed and pushed to third-party repositories, I expect that that is the same outcome here. Significant changes to serialization are not without cost, and I don't see activity on this in 6 months. I'd suggest this should be considered out of scope for the core Spark project.
