Package for portal app?
Hi all,
I'd like to propose generating a tar.gz with the portal site as a part of
the build process. We can wrap npm execution in a maven command to
generate the site, and then use maven assembly to generate a tar.gz.
What do you think?

ah ha.
So how about this.
- add a pom.xml that kicks off grunt to do the build/packaging.
- have the pom attach the artifact to be uploaded (to apache's nexus
instances)
- any grunt config required to make the package.
?
Not sure if any of you have been paying attention to general@i.a.o the
reason I'm proposing nexus is in part to the ripple issue that came up.

The reason I was throwing around maven was to help with the distribution
into nexus so that the resulting package gets put into repos.
I don't particularly care whether grunt or maven generates the package.

If you look at this grunt plugin
https://github.com/gruntjs/grunt-contrib-compress you can tar any set of
files. Would be nice to keep the compression in grunt for the portal. If
we move the portal to its own repo we won't be dependent on non-js tooling.

We should really be using grunt or gulp for the portal we already have the
grunt file with the compress step.

heh. We had that for a long time (.zip) and removed it before we did the first release. Easy to add in the grunt process.

Hi all,
I'd like to propose generating a tar.gz with the portal site as a part of
the build process. We can wrap npm execution in a maven command to
generate the site, and then use maven assembly to generate a tar.gz.
What do you think?
