[jira] [Created] (INFRA-5321) Mailing list index command returns garbage

Conor MacNeill created INFRA-5321:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Mailing list index command returns garbage
                 Key: INFRA-5321
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-5321
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: Mailing Lists
Environment: sending from gmail but via external smtp
            Reporter: Conor MacNeill

Sending an index request to the user or dev mailing lists for Ant, gives a garbage result:

e.g. sending to
dev-index.123_456@ant.apache.org
or
user-index.123_456@ant.apache.org

gives a reply like:

dev Result of: index.123_456

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <- subject index not available for message(s) ->
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <- subject index not available for message(s) ->
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <- subject index not available for message(s) ->
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <- subject index not available for message(s) ->

#asfinfra IRC Bot commented on INFRA-5321:
------------------------------------------

<danielsh> dev-index.86123_86456@ works -- the problem should be specific to "very old". Assuming NOTAPROBLEM, resolving accordingly, reopen if you disagree :)
