[jira] [Commented] (DAFFODIL-2712) Scala Steward no longer runs on Daffodil repo

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DAFFODIL-2712?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17568119#comment-17568119 ]

Mike Beckerle commented on DAFFODIL-2712:
-----------------------------------------

I am opposed to re-enabling this.

My experience of the whole update-bot system is that it is a huge fail. It wastes huge amounts of our collective time and energy.

I think we should turn this on selectively, such as only as a part of release preparation.

> The Scala Steward Org instance was shutdown in June. The recommended way to create PR's for dependency updates is now using the Scala Steward github action. This was added for the daffodil-vscode repo here:
> We should do something similar for the daffodil repo.
