   Below should be all you need to set the statusbar to overlay mode. It will make the status bar transparent, and your webview will appear **underneath** the status bar (so `padding-top` may be necessary).
   
   ```javascript
   document.addEventListener('deviceready', () => {
       StatusBar.overlaysWebView(true);
   });
   ```
