[GitHub] [iceberg] daksha121 opened a new issue, #6165: Support for adding optional column to table identifiers

daksha121 opened a new issue, #6165:
URL: https://github.com/apache/iceberg/issues/6165

   ### Feature Request / Improvement

We have a scenario in which we need to add a new field to the table and add it to the identifiers as well (Currently the table has only one required column as the identifier). Since identifier fields need to be required fields and there is currently no support for default values for required columns, we cannot model the new column as an identifier.
I'm looking to understand if there is any way to relax the constraint and have a composite primary key with at least one required column.

If not, are there any recommendations to model such a scenario?

   ### Query engine
