I completely agree. But, it might be useful to have two levels of debugging content, such as:

vcld -vv (For the current level of debugging output)
and
vcld -v (For a more streamlined level of debugging)

This would allow the additional debugging when necessary, but for both existing and new installations, the default amount of data written to vcld.log would drop significantly.
