> Currently HiveCatalog is the only implementation that supports persistent metadata. It's possible that users just want to use HiveCatalog to manage metadata, and doesn't intend to read/write Hive tables. However HiveCatalog is part of Hive connector which requires lots of Hive dependencies, and introducing these dependencies increases the chance of lib conflicts. We should investigate whether we can move HiveCatalog to a light-weight standalone module.
