On [https://cassandra.apache.org/doc/latest/cassandra/configuration/cass_yaml_file.html#num_tokens,] the default for num_tokens is still shown as 256.
However, I think it changed to 16 starting in 4.0.0. Can you please check with the C* devs? I was talking with a couple K8ssandra devs and we think the default changed since 3.11.x.
Possibly the docs were updated on a branch but that PR has not yet been merged? Many thanks for looking into it.
