Handler Thread bug in 3.0?

I've been getting quite a few of these messages dumping from Tomcat 3.0:

    HANDLER THREAD PROBLEM: java.io.IOException: Broken pipe
    <stack trace>

It seems to happen more frequently with servlets (as opposed to JSPs) but I
haven't tracked down the source yet. Is this a known problem that I
shouldn't bother investigating?
