It still seems that no one has commited this patch yet. Call me a nitpicker, but isn't this behaviour required by the JSF 1.2 specification (see section 10.2.6.2, paragraph 2)? Note that Christoph's patch is somewhat outdated by now but as it's just a single method it shouldn't be a problem.
