This one is kind of interesting / curious... I've just noticed that we ALREADY have a {{org.apache.fineract.infrastructure.core.exceptionmapper.JsonSyntaxExceptionMapper}} which is supposed to "do the right thing", which is to return a HTTP 400 client error, instead of log it as an error on the server side and presumably return a 500 internal server error to the client. The goal of resolving this issue would be to figure out what that doesn't actually seem to work? I'll try to see if I can easily spot anything obvious (but otherwise leave it to someone else to properly investigate this one further).
