The actual NPE issue was resolved in HDDS-9196
One thing we can do to fail gracefully is, fail the request by returning false. So rather than using {*}someString.equals(anotherString){*}, use *Objects.equals(someString, anotherString)* in [OzoneAclUtils#isOwner()|https://github.com/apache/ozone/blob/master/hadoop-ozone/ozone-manager/src/main/java/org/apache/hadoop/ozone/om/OzoneAclUtils.java#L190].
