Exposing SOAP interfaces through a DMZ

..does anyone have any experience/ideas in the following scenario;

A "SOAP server" resides in the internal LAN servicing internal requests. Now
we want to make these services available to clients over the internet,
securing access via our LDAP directory. We don't want to put anything in the
DMZ other than a fronting server, and all communications must be over 128bit
SSL.???

Rgds

Myles
