Thanks for the patch Richard.   I agree that expanding the notion of interceptors in a more general purpose sense for services may be a good feature.  I'm also working on some additional changes to interceptors to address some concerns with the lifecycle of interceptors as they relate to the modules upon which they are acting.  I think it is good if I consider this feature along with the other changes.
