This email is just a reminder not to miss a great opportunity.



Apache Diversity & Inclusion is participating once again in the Outreachy
program
<https://www.outreachy.org/blog/2022-01-10/may-2022-call-for-mentoring-communities/>,
a remote internship program where interns contribute to free and
open-source software communities over a three-month period and receive a
full-time stipend. This program is somewhat comparable to Google Summer of
Code, though the eligibility requirements for both projects and interns are
somewhat different.

💵 Paid - $7,000 USD total internship stipend

🌍 Remote - both interns and mentors work remotely

🕰 3 months - internships run May 30 to August 26


This is your opportunity to participate. They are calling for mentors,
anyone in the ASF community could be a mentor. ASF Members can directly
apply and submit their project proposal at Outreachy official website

## Timeline

04 Mar 2022: deadline for mentors to submit project proposals
25 Mar 2022: the beginning of applicant contribution period
22 Apr 2022: end of the applicant contribution period
04 May 2022: deadline for selecting interns from applicants
16 May 2022: intern selection finalized by Outreachy
20 May 2022: intern selection publicly announced
30 May 2022: the beginning of the internship
26 Aug 2022: end of the internship (can be extended if necessary)
