[jira] [Commented] (PIVOT-949) bxml:script using js file doesn't
work on Java 8
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIVOT-949?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14125410#comment-14125410 ]
Sandro Martini commented on PIVOT-949:
--------------------------------------
Note that in BXMLSerializer (since many time, could be since 2.0) on include and src attribute values, the initial '/' char if given it's stripped out ... probably we should update BXML Primer ( http://pivot.apache.org/tutorials/bxml-primer.html ) with this info, and write even that usually it's better to set that value in a relative way (using ../ if needed).
I have to make other tests, because this is strange; anyway I just installed Oracle JDK 8 Update 20, I'll make some test with it.

> Hi,
> I use in my bxml files lines like:
> <bxml:script src="/gui/pivot/scripts/variables.js" />
> which loads some variables that I can use in the file by calling them like $icon
> But when using a Java version higher than 6, I get this error:
> org.apache.pivot.serialization.SerializationException: Value "icon" is not defined.
